Dominik Gruellich opened his PDC title account after winning on the Development Tour in Leicester at the weekend.
Three days after celebrating his 23rd birthday, ‘Domi’ tasted success at the Mattioli Arena, beating his fellow German Leon Weber 5-0 in the Event 10 final on Sunday.
Gruellich had lost out in a last-leg decider to Ryan Branley in the final of Event 7 on Friday, but avenged that defeat with a 5-2 victory against the teenager in the Event 10 semi-finals.

The first year PDC tour card holder then averaged 98.88 as he whitewashed Weber in the decider to claim his maiden title on the Development Tour.
The event win moves Gruellich up to third on the Development Tour Order of Merit and in a provisional spot for the PDC World Darts Championship in December.
The second weekend of the Development Tour season also saw Cam Crabtree reach the semi-finals of Event 6, Viktor Tingstrom make a run to the last eight of Event 7, and Gruellich picked up more prize money with a quarter-final run in Event 8.

Wessel Nijman and Mike De Decker were the best performers on the PDC ProTour this week with both players reaching a last 16 during the latest Players Championship double header in Leicester.
In Players Championship 9 on Monday, Nijman picked up wins against Maik Kuivenhoven, Christian Kist (106 average) and Adam Lipscombe, before losing out to the eventual runner-up Ian White in the last 16.
On Tuesday, De Decker racked up victories over Rhys Griffin, Patrick Geeraets (101 average) and Ritchie Edhouse, before bowing out to Stephen Bunting in the last 16 of Players Championship 10. De Decker averaged 99 in their fourth-round clash which saw Bunting post a 111 average.
Ritchie Edhouse also caught the eye with a pair of last 32 runs and Cam Crabtree made the last 32 of Players Championship 10.

Oskar Lukasiak is still on course for a debut at Alexandra Palace later this year after reaching the quarter-finals of Event 3 on the PDC Nordic & Baltic Tour in Sweden at the weekend.
In his home weekend of events in Göteborg, the Swede made the last eight on Saturday, but has dropped one place from first to second on the Order of Merit.

Team Mission was well represented at the British Internationals with six players competing in Skegness at the weekend.
Lewis Gurney was part of the England team that claimed the men’s title, winning his match against Scotland before losing to Llew Bevan, who won both his matches whilst representing Wales.
Rhian O’Sullivan led Wales to the ladies title with victories in both of her matches against England and Scotland.
Sam Jackson played his part in a dominant campaign from the England team that cruised to the boys title. Jackson won both of his matches, including over fellow Mission Academy player Kyle Davidson, who claimed a victory in Scotland’s tie against Wales.

Jake Hobbs doubled up on the JDC Foundation Tour with his second title of the season on Saturday.
The 15-year-old took on Arthur Allston in both the Event 5 and 6 finals which both went to last-leg shootouts. Hobbs won the first final 5-4 and Allston took the honours in the day’s second decider.
Hobbs also reached the semi-finals of Event 8 the next day which leaves him in second place in the Foundation Tour rankings after two weekends, three points behind Allston, who has also won two titles this season.
