Wessel Nijman clinched his third career title on the PDC ProTour with a victory in Players Championship 34 last week.
The Dutchman, a first-time title winner on the ProTour in Wigan last year, followed up his recent success in Players Championship 30 in Leicester with another triumph at the Robin Park Leisure Centre.
Nijman defeated Luke Woodhouse 8-5 in the final of Players Championship 34, averaging 100.45 - but his most eye-catching performance came in the last 16 with an incredible 116.87 average in beating Adam Paxton 6-1.

The previous day, Nijman and the recent European Championship quarter-finalist Ryan Joyce both made the semi-finals of Players Championship 33, whilst Cam Crabtree enjoyed a run to the quarter-finals.
The final week of ProTour action for 2025 was quickly followed by the tour card holder qualifiers for the upcoming Grand Slam of Darts, with Nijman capping off a memorable week by booking his spot in the 32-player field in Wolverhampton.
Nijman secured his second Grand Slam appearance with a quartet of 5-2 victories, including a high-quality victory over Ritchie Edhouse in the final round, where Nijman averaged 106 and Edhouse averaged 112 in defeat.
The draw for the Grand Slam has now been confirmed, with Nijman drawn out in Group F along with the newly crowned European Championship winner Gian van Veen, Josh Rock and Lisa Ashton.
Martin Lukeman, the runner-up in the Grand Slam last year, is in Group B with Chris Dobey, Damon Heta and Jurjen van der Velde, whilst the Development Tour rankings winner Crabtree is in Group H with Jonny Clayton, Danny Noppert and Lukas Wenig.
The 2025 PDC Challenge Tour season concluded with the final weekend of events in Wigan, where Jack Tweddell (Event 22) and Joe Croft (Event 23) both signed off with quarter-final runs.

Archie Self will be heading back to the Lakeside later this year to defend his WDF Open Youth World Championship title after winning through the qualifiers on Sunday.
‘The Archer’ defeated fellow world youth champion Lex Paeshuyse 4-3 in his successful run in the qualifier, before coming through another last-leg decider against another Belgian, Oden Ollevier, in the final round to secure his spot in the eight-player field at Lakeside.

Just like he did last year, Archie Self has come through the Youth World Championship qualifier in Budapest.

Sam Jackson narrowly missed out on joining Self in the World Championship line up after losing out 5-4 to Benedek Szabo in the final round of qualifying.
Several other Mission Academy players also made deep runs during a busy week of events in Budapest, including Daniel Stephenson who reached the quarter-finals in the WDF World Masters open youth event. Jack Caulfield pushed the eventual champion Mitchell Lawrie all the way in their last 16 tie, losing out 4-3 in a deciding leg.
Balazs Szotak also reached the last eight in the Hungarian Masters open youth event, Francesco Basili made the same round in the Hungarian Classic open youth tournament, and Andras Borbely went one further with a semi-final run in the open event of the World Open.
The draw for the WDF World Championships has also been completed, with defending champion Self taking on the number two seed Florian Preis in the quarter-finals of the open youth event.
In the open event, the 14th seed Thomas Junghans takes on either Jim McEwan or Stephen Rosney in the second round, whilst Dennis Nilsson faces Canada’s Shane Sakchekapo in the first round, with the winner to play the fourth seed James Beeton in the last 32.

Graham Hall booked his spot in the second annual ADC Global Championship after winning the Championship Tour Finals in Portsmouth.
‘The G-Man’ won through three last-leg shootouts to claim the title, beating Robbie Martin, Carl Wilson and Kurt Parry all by a 5-4 scoreline.

Jack Tweddell entered the tournament as the number one seed, but his title bid ended in a 5-2 defeat to Jamie Hughes in the quarter-finals.
Hall and Tweddell will both be a part of the expanded 56-player Global Championship, which starts in Portsmouth at the start of next month.

There was double Mission delight in the recent Dublin Open as Dylan Slevin and Robyn Byrne won the men’s and women’s singles titles.
Slevin defeated Sean McKeon 6-1 in the final of the men’s competition, whilst Byrne dropped just two legs in her run to winning the women’s title, which she wrapped up with a 4-1 victory over Katie Sheldon in the final.

Jake Hobbs and Addison Hefferon made their mark in the recent JDC Super 16 weekends with runs to the quarter-finals in Events 6 and 8 respectively.
Hefferon also won the Consolation KO this past weekend, beating Jamie Cunningham 4-2 in the final.
Congratulations to Oscar Saxton, 15, who made his county A team debut for Salopian at the weekend, and won 4-1 with a 23.78 one-dart average.
