Mission Darts To Sponsor Lakeside

Mission Darts and the World Darts Federation (WDF) are delighted to announce a sponsorship deal for the 2024 WDF Lakeside World Championships.

The agreement will see the Mission Samurai Infinity Dartboard used for all matches during the tournament, which takes place at the Lakeside Country Club from Friday, November 29 to Sunday, December 8.

The Lakeside has a long history staging World Championship darts that dates as far back as 1986, with a who’s who of darts legends having tasted success on that iconic stage including Eric Bristow, John Lowe, Jocky Wilson, Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld.

This year’s championships will be the third edition held by the WDF and is set to be the biggest yet, with 84 players from all over the world competing across the men’s, women’s, boys’ and girls’ events and aiming to join the list of players to have won a world title at the Lakeside.

With the qualification period for Lakeside falling on Monday (October 28), there is an exciting mix of players lined up to battle it out over 10 days of action. Amongst the players flying the flag for Team Mission will be 2023 Lakeside semi-finalist Dennis Nilsson, brand ambassador Matthew Edgar, two-time Lakeside finalist Rhian O’Sullivan, newly crowned World Masters boys’ champion Lex Paeshuyse and JDC number one Archie Self.

Mission’s player development manager Darryl Fitton, who played in 16 consecutive World Championships at the Lakeside from 2003 to 2018, said: “It’s great to have Mission as the dartboard sponsor for the 2024 WDF World Championships at the iconic Lakeside.

“I can’t wait to get back to the Lakeside and feel the atmosphere of the venue in person again. When it’s packed out the Lakeside is like no other venue in darts.”

The WDF’s secretary general Nick Rolls said: “It’s great to be working with Mission for the first time as it’s very clear that they are passionate about darts and always looking to develop the products they offer players and tournament organisers.

"The fact that the WDF have extended the youth World Championships to eight boys and four girls also aligns nicely with Mission’s clear drive to attract the best of the best in the youth category onto their portfolio as the sport continues to grow.

"We look forward to delivering an exciting World Championships in which Mission boards will, quite literally, take centre stage on the world's most iconic darting stage."
