Connor Scutt and Daniel Stephenson were amongst the title winners during the British Open/Classic weekend in Bridlington.
The PDC Challenge Tour Order of Merit leader Scutt continued his impressive 2024 campaign, winning the WDF-silver ranked British Classic men’s title on Sunday night.
‘The Sniper’ averaged 97.13 in a 5-2 victory over Josh Clough in the final to claim his second WDF ranking title of the year.
Meanwhile, Mission Academy star Stephenson won his maiden WDF youth ranking event, beating Mitchell Lawrie 5-3 to take home the British Open boys’ crown.
In the semi-finals, a high-quality all-Mission contest saw Stephenson beat Thomas Banks (87.26) 3-1 with a 94.20 average.
Lewis Gurney also caught the eye in Bridlington with a run to the semi-finals of the British Open men’s event, along with an appearance in the British Open men’s pairs final with Charlie Manby.
Francesco Basili opened his own WDF youth ranking title account with a triumph in the recent Italian Open.
‘Ice Boy’ defeated Kendji Steinbach, of the Netherlands, 4-2 in the boys’ final to win his home event in Riccione.

Elsewhere, JDC number one Archie Self produced a stunning 112.73 average during the JDC European Open weekend.
‘The Archie’ threw the monster average in a 3-0 win over George Booth in the quarter-finals of Event One, as he reeled off three straight legs in 15, 13 and 12 darts.
Self finished the weekend on a high by winning Event Four, dropping just four legs in seven matches, and ended up in fourth place on the final ranking table.
Wessel Nijman broke new ground on the PDC European Tour with a run to the Hungarian Darts Trophy quarter-finals yesterday.
After whitewashing host nation qualifier György Jehirszki 6-0 in the first round, the Dutchman completed a memorable comeback in round two as he battled back from 5-2 down to knock out Gerwyn Price 6-5.
The victory sent Nijman through to the final day of a European Tour event for the first time, and he continued his best-ever run in Budapest averaging 104.23 in a 6-1 win over Scott Williams in the last 16.
Nijman was joined in the quarter-finals by Josh Rock, who had beaten James Wade (6-5) and Rob Cross (6-4), but the Mission duo both lost out in the last eight. Nijman lost 6-2 to fellow Dutchman Gian van Veen and Rock was beaten 6-4 by the eventual champion Michael van Gerwen.

The weekend started with Martin Lukeman picking up his first win on the European Tour this season with a 6-4 success against Brendan Dolan, before bowing out to van Gerwen (6-2) in the next round. Alan Soutar and Ritchie Edhouse lost in the first round to Jim Williams and Raymond van Barneveld respectively.
The previous weekend, Wessel Nijman and Rhys Griffin were both in action at the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam.
Nijman delighted his home crowd with a 6-1 victory against Andrew Gilding in the first round, before suffering a narrow 6-5 defeat to Michael Smith in the last 16.
It was a landmark day in the career of Griffin, who was making his TV debut after winning through the tour card holder qualifiers, but the Welshman lost out 6-4 to Canada’s Jeff Smith in the opening round.
Just two days after the World Series, the PDC ProTour resumed with a pair of Players Championships in Wigan.
Ritchie Edhouse just missed out on a place in his first PDC senior final, losing 7-6 to Dave Chisnall in the semi-finals of Players Championship 21.
‘Madhouse’ had fought back from 5-2 down to beat Damon Heta 6-5 in the quarter-finals, and another comeback victory was on the cards when he overturned a 6-2 deficit against Chisnall to force a last-leg decider.
In a dramatic final leg, Edhouse missed double 18 for a sensational 150 finish and then went close with three clear darts at double nine, and Chisnall returned to hit double 10 to progress.
And finally, Cam Crabtree warmed up for his WDF Europe Cup campaign in Slovakia this week with an impressive win at the recent ODL Blackpool Classic sponsored by Mission Darts.
The England international averaged 100.44 in the final as he breezed past Jordan Brooks 7-1 to win the title.
Crabtree will be one of six Mission players representing their countries at the Europe Cup, with Llew Bevan, Rhian O’Sullivan (both Wales), Chloe O’Brien (Scotland), Robyn Byrne (Republic of Ireland) and Viktor Tingstrom (Sweden) also set to make the trip to Slovakia.
