Daniel Stephenson and Kyle Davidson both lifted silverware at the first ever JDC Academy Nations Cup at the weekend.

The inaugural staging of the Nations Cup took place at the JDC Centre of Excellence, in Coventry, and saw youngsters from the JDC academy systems across the UK and Ireland representing their countries.

England were crowned the overall champions with Stephenson playing his part, teaming up with Jack Nankervis to win the boys doubles and as well as reaching the semi-finals in the boys singles.

Meanwhile, Davidson helped guide Scotland to the team event title as they saw off Wales in the semi-finals and England in the final.

The PDC ProTour resumed after a summer break with Players Championships 18 and 19 in Milton Keynes last week.

Callum Goffin enjoyed his best run on the PDC tour to date reaching the last 16 of Players Championship 18, with Stephen Burton also winning his board to make the fourth round on the same day.

Martin Lukeman was in good form at Players Championship 19 as he made the quarter-finals, before narrowly losing out 6-5 to Cameron Menzies.

The three-day block of action concluded with a double header of qualifiers and saw Lukeman, Alan Soutar and Brett Claydon all qualify for the Czech Darts Open.

The trio join Josh Rock, Ryan Joyce and Ritchie Edhouse who are amongst the automatic qualifiers for the 13th and final European Tour event of the season.

Wessel Nijman and Rhys Griffin secured spots in the World Series of Darts Finals next month after winning through the qualifiers on Friday.

It will be a homecoming for the Development Tour leader Nijman with the televised event taking place at the AFAS Live in Amsterdam from September 13-15.

Oskar Lukasiak finished in fourth place on the PDC Nordic & Baltic Tour after the season concluded in Reykjavik at the weekend.

The Swede, who won a title and reached two finals earlier on in the year, made the last 16 and quarter-finals in the last two events of the campaign.

It was a perfect weekend on home soil for Robyn Byrne who won two titles in the INDO Irish Masters.

Byrne defeated Aoife McCormack 3-1 in the final of the ladies singles and teamed up with Katie Sheldon to lift the ladies pairs crown.

Francesco Basili tasted success in the Open Single U18 event in the European Darts Federation’s European Championship.

‘Ice Boy’ did not drop a single leg on his way to winning the title out in Slovenia at the weekend.
