Mission Darts is delighted to announce a contract extension with the 2024 JDC Advanced Tour champion Archie Self.
The 14-year-old joined the Mission Academy back in 2021 and has risen through the junior ranks, winning four titles on the JDC Advanced Tour this year to finish top of the rankings.
Last month, ‘The Archer’ struck perfection with his first competitive nine-dart leg in the Burghfield Darts Events Grand Prix.
Self is set to captain England A at the JDC World Cup of Darts and will be one of the leading contenders in this year’s JDC World Championship, with both events taking place in Gibraltar in November.
On signing a new deal with Mission, Self said: “Firstly, I would like to thank Mission and especially Darryl (Fitton) for all of their support over the last couple of years. I'm delighted to sign an extension to my contract. I've improved over the last two years and I want to keep improving with their support.
“The world of darts has gone massive for youngsters recently and, as you can see from my team mates here at Mission, we are only going to get better. I would also like to thank my mum and dad for everything they have done for me, so that I can achieve my best every time."
Darryl Fitton, Mission’s player development manager, added: “I’m over the moon to have Archie continuing his darts journey with us at Mission. When Archie first signed with us I could see the talent he had and he is already fulfilling that potential with his performances on the oche.
“This year Archie has really pushed on and won four Advanced Tour titles to become the number one player in the JDC. He’s got a very exciting future ahead of him and I’m looking forward to working with him on achieving his next goals in the game.”
