Byrne Signs New Deal With Mission

Mission Darts is delighted to announce a multi-year contract extension with two-time PDC Women’s Series title winner Robyn Byrne.

The 28-year-old joined Team Mission in March 2023 and later that year she made history as the first Irish player to win a Women’s Series event.

Byrne’s victory helped her to secure a debut in the Women’s World Matchplay that summer, where she caught the eye at the Winter Gardens with a run to the semi-finals.

A second Women’s Series title followed for the Dubliner in September last year, with a further three finals in 2025 helping Byrne secure a second appearance in the Women’s World Matchplay next month.

Away from the PDC, Byrne has established herself as one of Ireland’s top players with a number of tournament victories on home soil, as well as success representing her country in the WDF World Cup and Europe Cup.

On signing a new deal with Mission, Byrne said: “It was an easy decision to re-sign with Mission. I’ve achieved a lot in the last two-and-a-half years with their support behind me.

“I’m happy to be signing up for more years with Mission. I’m excited to be going back to the Winter Gardens for the Matchplay, and I’m looking forward to going to South Korea for the WDF World Cup in September too.”

Darryl Fitton, Mission’s player development manager, added: “Robyn has been one of the easiest players to deal with, so offering her a new deal was a no brainer for us.

“I was very pleased to see Robyn confirm her place back in the Women’s World Matchplay over the weekend. She had a great debut in Blackpool a couple of years ago, beating Rhian O’Sullivan in the first round and then pushing Beau Greaves close in the semi-finals.”

The race to qualify for the 2025 Women's World Matchplay concluded this past weekend, with Byrne securing her place in the eight-player field as the fifth seed. The Irish international will take on the four-time women's world champion Lisa Ashton in the first round of the tournament on July 27.
