Lukeman Signs New Deal With Mission

Mission Darts is thrilled to announce a long-term contract extension with the Grand Slam of Darts finalist Martin Lukeman.

‘Smash’ was one of the first players to sign for Team Mission, joining in early 2021 shortly after he secured a two-year PDC tour card at UK Q-School.

The 40-year-old from Watford rose to fame with a run to the final of the Grand Slam in November last year, beating two former world champions Peter Wright and Rob Cross on the way to his first major final.

Lukeman has also reached the quarter-finals of the World Grand Prix and UK Open in recent years, whilst his first PDC senior final came on the European Tour at the German Darts Grand Prix three years ago.

Now ranked 38th on the PDC Order of Merit, ‘Smash’ is pushing for a return to the World Matchplay this summer, having made his debut at the iconic tournament in Blackpool back in 2022.

On signing a new deal with Mission, Lukeman said: “I’m well happy to sign this new deal with Mission.

“I’m a loyal player and Mission have given me a lot of support on and off the oche over the last four years. I’m looking forward to what the future brings with the continued support of Mission behind me.”

Darryl Fitton, Mission’s player development manager, added: “I’m really happy that Martin has agreed to sign a new contract with us at Mission. He’s been loyal to us and that means a lot.

“Martin’s journey over the last four years has had its ups and downs, but his determination to achieve more has impressed me and he’s got the rewards with that run to the Grand Slam final last year.”
