New Deal For The Dazzler

Mission Darts is thrilled to announce a new multi-year deal with player development manager Darryl Fitton.

‘The Dazzler’ joined Team Mission in 2022 as a player alongside a role working with the talented young players in the Mission Academy.

The 62-year-old is one of the most well-respected figures in the world of darts, having won numerous titles during his career including the 2009 Zuiderduin Masters and 2016 BDO World Trophy.

Fitton made 16 consecutive appearances at the Lakeside from 2003 to 2018, where he appeared in a trio of BDO World Championship semi-finals, whilst in more recent years he has competed on the World Seniors and MODUS Super Series circuits.

In his role as player development manager, Fitton has worked closely with the players at Team Mission and the Mission Academy, passing on his knowledge and experience to help them improve their game.

During his time at Mission so far, the brand's players have enjoyed plenty of success with Ritchie Edhouse winning the European Championship last October, and Archie Self (WDF Boys World Championship, pictured below) and Lex Paeshuyse (JDC World Championship) both lifting world titles at the end of 2024.

On signing a contract extension with Mission, Fitton said: “I am delighted to sign a new long-term contract with Mission Darts and look forward to what the future holds for us as a team.

"Darts has evolved significantly in recent years, and I’m excited to be continuing with such a talented group of young and up and coming players.

"The sport is experiencing tremendous growth, and there are so many opportunities out there for the ones who want to put the time and effort in.

"Now the hard work begins and for me it’s time to find future Mission players who align with our goals and values.

"I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the management team for believing in me and sharing our vision."

Craig Heenighan, the managing director at Mission, added: “Darryl is Mission Darts and we are delighted he has extended his contract with us on a long term basis.

“The work Darryl has done, particularly over the last couple of years with our younger players, has been phenomenal producing two junior world champions in the last 12 months alone.

“We look forward to many more years of incredible growth with Darryl at the forefront of everything we are doing with Mission.”
