Mission Recap – Team Mission Claim Big Name Scalps On The ProTour

Team Mission picked up wins over all of the world’s top three ranked players during the Players Championship double-header in Leicester this week.

On Tuesday, Dylan Slevin knocked out the world number two Luke Littler in the first round of Players Championship 11.

The Irishman beat the reigning PDC world champion 6-3 in the opening round, before Brett Claydon took out a match-winning 134 checkout to defeat the world number one Luke Humphries 6-5 in the last 64.

Wessel Nijman and Ritchie Edhouse both reached the last 16 on Tuesday, before ‘Madhouse’ went one round further the next day with a run to the quarter-finals of Players Championship 12.

The European champion held his nerve in a deciding leg to knock out Littler 6-5 in the last 16, before bowing out 6-4 to Gian van Veen in the last eight.

Earlier in the day, Rhys Griffin claimed a memorable 6-3 win over the world number three Michael van Gerwen in the first round, whilst Martin Lukeman and Alan Soutar both won their boards on Wednesday before exiting in the last 16.

Wessel Nijman matched his best run to date on the European Tour with a quarter-final appearance at the International Darts Open last weekend.

The Dutchman picked up wins over Radek Szaganski, Chris Dobey and Damon Heta to reach the final session in Riesa, where he lost out 6-3 to the top seed Luke Humphries.

Mike De Decker and Ritchie Edhouse both came through their first-round ties on Friday before losing in the last 32 to Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright respectively.

Archie Self opened his JDC Advanced Tour title account for 2025 with a victory in Event 12 on Sunday.

The 2024 JDC Advanced Tour ranking table winner posted an impressive tournament average of 89.35 on his way to the title in Coventry.

The reigning WDF boys world champion averaged 101.90 in a first-round win against Daniel Stephenson, before victories over Leo Howard, Taylor McGuckian and Tergel Khurelkhuu set up a clash with the current ranking leader Ryan Branley.

The final went all the way to a last-leg decider and Self checked out a title-winning 106 to clinch the Event 12 title. The victory moves ‘The Archer’ up to fifth in the Advanced Tour rankings, with Lex Paeshuyse in third.

Mathias Myrvang Isaksen won the boys singles title at the NM Singel competition in Norway on Saturday.

‘The Norwegian Fella’ dropped just three legs in the knockout stage of the tournament, sealing the title with a 6-1 victory against Linus Gravdal in the final.
