András Borbély

New Deal For Borbély

Mission Darts is delighted to announce a multi-year contract extension with the Hungarian rising star András Borbély.

The 20-year-old wrote his name in his country’s record books when he averaged 96.55 in the first round of the Hungarian Darts Trophy last month.

Borbély checked out 170 and two other bullseye finishes in a 6-4 defeat to Luke Woodhouse at the MVM Dome, in Budapest, and posted the highest average by a Hungarian on the PDC European Tour.

The former Budapest Masters champion is set to compete in the finals of the Hungarian Darts Super League next week, having qualified as the fifth seed in the eight-player line up after winning two of the 12 events during the season.

The winner of the Super League on October 18 will earn a spot in the 2025/26 PDC World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace at the end of the year.

On signing a new deal with Mission, Borbély said: “Mission have given me a lot of support since I joined them and Darryl (Fitton) has been a great mentor for me. He was a big part of me joining Mission and his support has helped me to improve my game.

“The Euro Tour last month was a really good experience for me. I was happy to play well on the stage and I hope I can produce that level of performance again and continue to get better.”

Darryl Fitton, Mission’s player development manager, added: “I'm very happy to have András resign with Mission. He has a lot of talent and a great personality. He's a super fit for what we are trying to build here at Mission.

“He has a great attitude and is willing to listen and learn. From the first time I saw András play at the WDF Europe Youth Cup in Hungary I knew he had the potential to be a top player. I have no doubt András could be one of the best players to come out of Eastern Europe."
